This year’s tour celebrates the 25th anniversary of Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s Olympic Gold medal win at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics in 1984 for their Bolero routine. They participated in this tour as well and showcased their expertise of making the most difficult moves look flawlessly simple even after a quarter of century. Their hardwork and dedication has made them the star. They rehearse hours to make sure that their every move falls in perfection. This is the difference between the stars like them and people like Todd Carty who should only be viewed on a good quality HDTV screen, like on the Sony KDL-40Z4500, as long as he is not ice dancing. Ideally, it would be better to watch Carty perform on a small and grainy TV screen, since it make will his abhorrent performance less visible. The flawless performances of the real stars in this event really showed that it takes something to be a star and not everyone is willing to put in the work, or is capable, of taking their performance to new heights.

In fact, Susie is a downright professional who rightfully thought turning Todd into Christopher Dean is going to be the toughest task she has ever faced. Todd, with his hilariously clumsy performance has reinforced her fears over and over again, right from the moment he has set foot into Dancing on Ice.

In spite of realizing the extent of her responsibility Susie was yet taken by surprise when Todd careened wildly with flying spaghetti legs as he came down crashing on the rink.

Though unintentional, this hilarious act of Todd was watched world over by at least ten million. It was also published on YouTube for the rest to have a good laugh. Susie, in an exclusive interview to the Daily Mirror recalled the incident saying she did not realize what was happening. All she could see was an orange flash from the corner of her eye and heard the entire crowd becoming hysterical. She said audience went crazy and the there was a deafening noise at the studio.

Susie went on to say that Todd was a good human being and she would continue with her efforts in teaching him. Of course, it still looks like the closest clumsy Todd should get to professional figure skating is watching it on his flat-screen Sony KDL-40W4500 before he hurts himself. But despite his horrendous performance, Todd admittedly provides for some great comedic relief and Susie must be lauded for sticking with him.

Todd however is hell bent on remaining cool as he ventures into skating again the next day. Todd Carty is just at 7.5 points in the leaderboard of the judges after his unstable debut. This is the lowest point in the history of the show. Viewers were nice and sympathetic however to Todd, the ex East Ender and saved him from skate-off. He is now awaiting another day of glide or wobbles, we will have to wait and see.

He was understandably compared to the Sergeant of the Strictly Come Dancing show and quite enjoyed this. This Sergeant is continuously saved by the public after his debacle with the judges until he opts out of the show.

Todd however gave Susie Lipanova, his partner the credit for being fully prepared with her work out.

In an exclusive interview to the Mirror, Todd accepted that he has been nicknamed Sarge. He joked that just like John who tried his best even though he was surely not one of the best dancers around, he would also follow his footsteps and continue doing the same thing. But if he doesn’t change anything, then the best figure skating performance he’ll ever pull off will be with the Imagine – Figure Skater game on the Nintendo DS. Toddy also complimented Susie again saying she was one of the best skaters around and that she resembled Tinkerbell. He also joked that he constantly seemed to be spending his time apologizing.

Other famous celebrities that are finalized to grace the competition include, former model Melinda Messenger, ex Liberty X and Mrs Shane Warne Jessica Taylor, and ex East Enders stars Todd Carty and Gemma Bissix. Presenter Michael Underwood is there as well and he would really cherish the chance to compete at this year’s event after he had to suffer the agony of sitting out last year because of a damaging ankle he suffered at the start of the show.

The remaining star cast who are ready to display their skills on ice consist of retired Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallet, football expert Graeme Le Saux, rugby great Ellery Hanley, TV presenters Jeremy Edwards and Zoe Salmon, investigative reporter Donal MacIntyre, as well as X-Factor loser Ray Quinn.

Each of the contestants has done their homework well to emulate the feat of last year’s winner Suzanne Shaw. The dexterity and physical acumen required to succeed can be easily gauzed when someone like Mirror’s Mum To Mum writer Coleen, 43, reveals that practicing out on the ring helped her shed five stones! The lady who was frankly oversized at 20, managed to bring it drastically down to size 10 after spending some good time on the ice. Of course, for those of use who are not quite as graceful on ice, they is always the more sturdy option of losing weight on a treadmill like the Horizon Evolve. Losing weight is particularly important and helpful, especially for the ladies, if they have a petite figure as it will than be easier for her male counterpart to lift her to produce some really sensuous and sexy moves.
