The judging panel of the popular Dancing on Ice show has been under attack from Micheal Underwood. He accused them of resorting to random and inconsistent awarding of marks.
Micheal was voted off the show on Sunday. The GMTV producer particularly selected the marking given by Nicky Slater. He expressed displeasure at the way he was marked by Nick.
Micheal who is aged 33, was reportedly angered by the unfair marking by Nicky who gave Donal MacIntyre who had a fall during performance being awarded 0.5 points less than Ray Quinn who performed in a flawless manner.
Micheal, in an interview to the Sun said the show featured a lot of inconsistencies in markings, especially those of Nicky. He reiterated the fact that it was not fair giving Donal just 0.5 lesser than Ray. He said you just have to see their performance to realize the inconsistency in marking.
A lot of other contestants are also unhappy with the judging of the show. As he departed from the show, Jeremy Edwards claimed the marking was a fix. He lost against Ellery Hanley in the skate off. He told Hot TV that having performed pretty well, he did not deserve the mark. He said that though he thinks Todd is a great person, he seriously did not think his performance was not just half a mark better than his. He also expressed mystification and said he did not understand whether the show was actually a contest or just an entertainment. However, we have not heard the same outcries from fans. So perhaps it is simply harder to see where the judges wrong on TV, though with many households owning large HDTVs like the Samsung LE-46A786 this is unlikely. It could simply be that Underwood is bitter for having lost and is holding a grudge; controversy over scoring decisions will always remain a part of celebrity television talent shows.
