Bereft of Live Feed, Big Brother may look like a pale Version of its Self

There is bad new for hardcore BB fans, as Channel 4 has confirmed the dreaded news that the live feed, which is apparently broadcast via the digital platform E4 and the interactive ‘red button’ service, will not be available for the new series of the hugely popular Celebrity Big Brother franchise.

The Channel has though stayed from making an official comment as of yet, instead preferring to maintain a dignified silence over the matter. We can only take the silence as an admission of truth, so it appears BB fans, myself included, will no longer be able to watch the show live from the convenience of their Dell Studio laptop, or any other laptop for that matter. The development, which was first reported by The Sun, is widely believed to have emanated from the Channel 4 bosses concerning the ambiguity surrounding the show’s editorial policies, which for the record took a beating last year when the infamous racism row threatened to shake the very fabric of the channel.

A source close to the channel is reported to as saying to The Sun that fans loyalty will be short-changed, and that the Channel’s recent antics have really brought shame to the show and has turned it into a shameful circus. The scrapping of the live feed clearly lacks in taste, and his pretext for scrapping the live feed show, among others, is invariably to increase his authority and control.

He further added that the latest development has transformed what has been one of the most anticipated and sought for events to a mere entertainment show where audience now have to bear with celebrities doing silly tasks. Moreover, if the show doesn’t run the stipulated 24 hours then it may act as another repellent for the audience. He went on and stated that he show is now more of a watered version of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ than anything else.
